The home run extended the Beavers’ season-long losing streak to six games and kept interim manager Gary Jones looking for his first win since taking over for Randy Ready late Thursday. It also negated the pitching efforts of Beavers starter Wade LeBlanc and relievers Scott Patterson and Ryan Webb who combined to allow one run and four hits in eight innings. Jones held a closed-door meeting with his new team after the loss. “It’s easy to go out and just go through the motions but they’ve played hard and that’s what it’s going to take” he said.
