your budget stinks”) at both the San Francisco and Sacramento rallies Wednesday Republicans shouldn’t think this “revolution” as it was referred to from the Sacramento stage is theirs. “Are you guys tools of the Republican Party?” Meckler asked the crowd that packed the west lawn of the Capitol in Sacramento. The crowd’s response: Boooooo! Much anger at rallies The “tea baggers” were angry about government bailouts. Angry at getting fewer services for their tax dollars. Angry at President bama for approving the bailouts at former President George W. Bush for not restraining federal expenditures and at Congress and the Legislature for spending “like drunken sailors” – one of the day’s more popular refrains.

(AP) — Dozens of the people who have been living in a homeless encampment near downtown Sacramento folded their tents and packed their shopping carts Wednesday the deadline set by the city to clear out. Many said they did not want to go to shelters or had heard that the city’s shelters were full. “I don’t know where I’m going” said Danny Valadez 48 who lost his job as a painter and has lived at the so-called “tent city” with his girlfriend for the past 13 months. He said they didn’t want to live in shelters because there are too many rules and they feel “a little like jail. “”Everybody’s trying to find a spot where they won’t get messed with” Valadez said.

Water projects to get $260 million of stimulus

Arnold Schwarzenegger thanked President bama for helping secure the federal funds which will be part of tens of billions of dollars likely to flow to the Golden State as part of the federal economic stimulus package. “It symbolizes the (federal government’s) intent to be at the table and help us rebuild our infrastructure” Schwarzenegger said. Wednesday morning Schwarzenegger and Salazar took a helicopter tour above the fragile Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta a source of contention in the state’s debate over how to route water flowing from the Sierra to millions of Californians while protecting the delta’s natural habitat. Salazar said he recognizes both the “conflict and the opportunities” for the delta saying that while there will be difficult choices California needs to modernize its water storage and delivery systems. The Bay Area will benefit from the federal funds including $20 million that will pay for fish screens on a canal that sends water from the delta to 550000 residents of Contra Costa County. fficials at the Contra Costa Water District which operates the federally owned canal said the money will mean all of its current intake canals will have the screens which prevent fish such as chinook salmon and endangered delta smelt from being sucked into the water system. Installation of the screens will start this summer said district spokeswoman Jennifer Allen.
Timberwolves’ McHale still mum on coaching future

Then there were nights when everything seemed to come together when he saw the players applying what he harped on in practice and showing abilities that weren’t there earlier this season. And he would walk out of the arena invigorated with an extra hop in that famous limp of his. So it should come as no surprise that he wasn’t willing to shed any light on his future with the organization after a season-finishing loss to lowly Sacramento on Wednesday night. “We’ll see” McHale said. The coach said he will head to his cabin with the family and think things over before he decides whether his career with his homestate team is over. “If it is it is if it’s not it’s not” McHale said. “All things change and come to an end and stuff like that.
